TWO Training Camps!
No, you're not seeing double!
We are hosting two incredible BMX camps this summer, and they are going to be AMAZING!
- OTB Clinics - June 9-10
This clinic was off the hook last June! Coach Kiran brought an A list of pros out to help teach racers all they knew and he has even more planned for this year!
This camp is running two weeks ahead of the Edmonton Provincials, and is a great way to get your athlete ready for that awesome weekend of racing.

If you know BMX, you know Ken. And if you don't, you have GOT look him up. He has coached the best of the best all over the world, and his talk on mental preparation alone is a game changer (yes, even for littles!).
This camp is mid August, with the intention of readying your racers for that final end of season push. Registration is not yet open, but it will fill up.
APPAREL ORDER DEADLINE
If you want to wear the coolest logo in BMX history, get on it! Deadline for ordering is MIDNIGHT MAY 15. Zero exceptions, zero wiggle room.
If you miss the deadline, another order isn't going in until June which is like 10,000 years away.
Pub Night Tickets
We will have tickets for sale at the Concession all week as well as our web store! Remember all race families are required to purchase two tickets.
Provincial & Aurora Race Series
EVERYONE WITH A LICENSE CAN RACE!!!!
This is sooo sooo soo important for our new racers to understand. Regardless of whether you are a Stony Plain Club or Team racer, that license you bought means you are eligible for racing in the Provincial Series as well as the Aurora Series races this year.
The first Provincial Race series is in Edmonton on June 23&24, and the first Aurora Series race is also in Edmonton, on Friday June 15. Aurora information is just being finalized so as soon as we can give you a link with more information/sign up directions, we will!
Red Deer Provincial - parents if you're planning on camping at the Lions campground for this one so you can walk to the track each day, DO IT NOW!!! It fills fast.
Volunteer Positions
This year we have made a few changes to the way you volunteer!
Your commitment is 10 hours PLUS one work bee or casino shift. All families are required to submit a $300 volunteer cheque against their commitment - racers will not be allowed on the track to practice or race until we have received this cheque.
Track positions on race and practice nights are still first come first serve. Details are in our welcome package, available on our website
In an effort to be a little more organized and to help you complete, there are a few jobs we want to draw your attention to:
- Weekly track set up. Duties Include sweeping the track (this helps keep our kids safe). Setting up and taking down lights, gates and garbages. Arrival time 5:30pm Monday and Thursday. Sign up for one week in the moto shed.
- Moto Committee. Duties include registering riders for races. Building motos. Entering into BEM system. Printing all sheets. Handing out stickies.
- Concession CommitteeDuties include selling concession items on track nights. Keeping concession clean and organized.
- Pub night (June 2). One of our biggest fundraisersVarious shifts and positions available
- Stony Plain Dental Community Night (June 8) - we need two families to volunteer to help Donna for the evening.
- Track Maintenance Committee. Duties include maintenance of the track under the direction of committee head. Heavy equipment work included.
- Year End Party Committee. Duties include helping to organize and plan for year end party with executives
- Casino. Our biggest fundraiser helps us keep our club fees as low as possibleVarious shifts and positions available
We will teach you everything you need to know for each of these positions. We want these jobs to be as easy and fun as possible! Remember, we are all volunteers and without you there is no us.
